A DAY YOU WON'T FORGET

“Good times are a reminder and a reward for dealing with the difficult and challenging times we all go through. The trick is to celebrate the good times in advance of the difficult times. Always remember, good times await you after the difficult times pass….” - James A. Murphy

The 7th August, a baby boy was born. What a great joy in the family! Three years later, look at the Kid smiling, moving, speaking.... It is amazing! At school age, observe how the Kid socializes!  Now, let us consider the quote from C.JoyBell C. : ''I think that the best thing we can do for our children is to allow them to do things for themselves, allow them to be strong, allow them to experience life on their own terms, allow them to take the subway... let them be better people, let them believe more in themselves.” Doing things on your own give you strengthen to learn, to meet and overcome challenges; to mature and to nurture your curiosity and become more responsible and independent in making decision and acting.

In my teenage, I thought that all I want out of life was : '' Be happy, rich and powerful '', now as I grow up, I realize that nothing is more important than being happy! Be happy and Live happy and Spread happiness! This is the golden rule: Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it. - Groucho Marx

Now the day I am talking about was come, it is a great day, hard to forget! Can you imagined what happened? Wait a little bit I wanna tell you. It was not in Winter nor in Summer! The wind was blowing! What a fantastic day! The day I am talking about is when I discovered that the best feeling in the world is realizing that you're perfectly happy without the thing you thought you needed.

Enjoy Marry Chrismas and Happy New Year 2014 with only $100 !

'' Do you have enough money to celebrate the coming season? Are you planning to get bank loans to finance your great moments? I have good news for you! All you need is less than $100 USD! Celebrate wisely by spending less and being with your family and closer friends.'' STL Team

Many years ago, I used to wait impatiently for the coming of Noel and ''Bonne Annee''. Now, as I am in my thirties, I try to see things differently. By spending your time reading the following observations, you learn how you can save your money from the coming season.! Producers and Sellers are waiting for your money! Let us examine the reasons you shouldn't spend much money this season:

1. Happiness: Many people will tell you that for you to be happy you must have money- a lot of money indeed! The reason is that with it you can buy different goods and services of your choice. More importantly, when you have money you feel stable, safe and secured. To be specific let me tell you that if your joy, peace, happiness, integrity, security depends merely on your wealth, you will inevitably be in trouble because needs are unlimited while means are scare. My advice to you is that you just be happy regardless of your limitations. Your happiness is not in many bottles of bear or wine you will open; it is not in the number of ladies you will sleep with,......   Your joy is in the way you appreciate yourself, understand your emotions and the way you make choices. Learn to do what you love, to be with those are important to you and to spend less.

2. Friendship: Life is meaningful if you are with good people. People you can trust, you can open your mind and heart. However, nothing is more destructive than a poor friend that manipulate you, mislead you, and often profit from you. I don't need to illustrate this because you understand what I mean. My advice is to be wise when choosing friends and companion. Now as we are approaching the great moment, you will receive invitations and certainly you have plans. Know where you spend most of your time and money!

3. Family: Your family is what should come first! The family is the center of everything. Celebrate this seasons with your family. What they need is not money or anything related to it. All your family needs is you. To remember the past, the journey made so far. I know the past is not sweet! But it is a must do_ Tell your kids where you are coming from, what was your greatest challenges and success. Examine together your situation and make plans together and decide on the new year resolutions together! How much do you think this can cost you?

Notice: Remember that after this season, the life continues: The family to look after, the children to take to school, the debt to pay, the project to run among other! Be unique and live differently.

               HAPPY NEW YEAR 2014

In three weeks ahead, we start a New Year 2014. During this important season, I would like to share our experience and the lessons we can draw from the past. As the time passes, things get changed: Some people either get old or die while other get richer or poorer! It is not fair to remind you that. I am very sorry to say. Instead, I would like to make you notice the importance of seasons and to make the best out of it! Be reminded that everything under the sun has its due time. I don't want to take you much time in this!

WHAT RESERVES 2014 FOR YOU?

2014 is not as any other figure you can imagine! This year is very special. I have nominated it as A MANIFEST YEAR! Do you know why? BeforeI tell you why, I would like first to ask a simple question: Have you ever wandered why you are the way you are and why you do things the ways you do it? If yes, that's great. But if not, do not worry this is your time. I asked you this question, not to challenge you but to encourage you lead a very happy and successful life. Remember that if you do not drive your life to your desired destination, they are other certified people waiting to take you where they have already prepared for you! The problem with the last is that you are forced to do things and to behave in a very defined way. Do not make me wrong, I don't say that you stop collaborate or learn from others. Instead, I want you to be responsible for yourself and define clearly what you want to do and how you want to do it in respect of societal norms, values, code of conduct, laws and regulations.

2014:  Dare to dream higher
Let people know what you want out of life
           Achieve higher
           Be productive and disruptive
            Live happy

2014 - A MANIFEST YEAR,  Let your life be like watered garden where you can grow what ever you want. If you want to grow mushrooms or flower you will reap mushrooms or flower! But imagine if you decide to grow '' GOLD'' in your garden! Do not tell me that it is impossible because I believe that everything you can conceive you can also achieve. Tell me, is the garden to determine what to grow or the farmer? whatever is the case, let us all agree on this: There is no yes/no answer to this question because the normal way of life is complex and things are interdependent. If you agree with me, then let us draw the following conclusions:

2014: You can be different and live differently
You can have what you have ever wanted
           You can surprise yourself
You can reach the highest level you 've never imagined

2014- A YEAR OF GREAT REALIZATION, Do not try to mislead me, I know this is delicious to everyone. Now, the unique question you might have is how is this possible? You are the one who can best answer to this question. Because you know where you are coming from, where you are and where you want to go. What I have to inform you is that you have the KEY TO YOUR SUCCESS, JOY AND EVERYTHING YOU WANT! The problem is that you don't know when to open and when to close. I am telling you that this is the right time to open up your happiness. If you are still interested try this:

2014: Record anything that comes into your mind
Do only things that you love to do and do it well
Build a good network as your assets
Remember to surrender to your maker
Spend less but invest in your talents and future

2014- A NEW YEAR, Profit from this season to develop a new attitude and habit. This is the season to break down all barriers that you used to face. Stop blaming others! Stop believing in misfortune! Stop living as if you going to die tomorrow! Plan ahead your activities, prioritize your efforts, and be positive about yourself.

2014: YOU DESERVE THE BEST, Success do not depend on age, sex, skin color, origin, etc. Success depends on you commitment to make it happen. Your effort and hardworking towards a well defined task. Who do you think is in the right way to assign you a given task? I would regret if you play a passive role in this process. KNOW YOURSELF and BE YOURSELF!

8 Reasons Keeping a Journal Can Help You Reach Your Goals

8 Reasons Keeping a Journal Can Help You Reach Your Goals

By Joshua Becker

“Always carry a notebook. And I mean always. The short-term memory only retains information for three minutes; unless it is committed to paper you can lose an idea for ever.” - Will Self
Our decision to become minimalist was intentional. It was based on the realization that our possessions were distracting us from things in life that were more important. Our possessions were stealing too much of our money, time, energy, and focus. And as a result, we decided to get rid of everything we didn’t need or love to focus on our greatest passions.
On the other hand, this on-line journal of our journey into minimalism was not intentional. Originally, the Becoming Minimalist website began as simply a humble means to inform our extended family of our goals. But somewhere along the way, it became an important piece in helping us achieve them.
Since then, I have used the discipline of keeping a journal to assist me in the pursuit of other life goals as well. And I have come to clearly recognize and appreciate its importance.

Benefits of Keeping a Journal

Consider these 8 ways keeping a journal can help us reach our goals:
1. Keeping a journal requires us to write out our goals. The importance of committing our desires to paper cannot be overstated. It is a simple process, but it pays great dividends. Writing out our goals provides the opportunity to articulate them clearly and makes their achievement appear closer.
2. A journal serves as a permanent record of our progress. Success can be quickly forgotten. And when it is, it becomes easy to get frustrated with our pursuit. As with any pursuit, there are times we may feel like we have not accomplished anything despite all the invested effort and energy. During those moments, it is helpful to look back and be reminded of our past successes.
3. Writing requires us to think through the why’s and the how’s. When we sit down behind a blank computer screen or sheet of paper and begin to write out what we accomplished during the day, we are forced to think through our process on a deeper level. The discipline forces us to answer the difficult questions of “why,” “how,” or “why not?” The answers to these questions are not just helpful as we move forward to repeat successes and avoid mistakes, they can be therapeutic as well.
4. A journal proves we have solved problems in the past. Whether we are chasing a physical goal (26.2 miles), a career goal (start my own business), or a personal goal (become a better father), not every step in our pursuit is going to be easy… goals worth pursuing never are. At some point, we will be required to overcome adversity. But we will. And the next time we face it, we’ll find motivation and strength in our written record of overcoming it in the past.
5. Keeping a journal naturally reminds us to articulate next steps. It is difficult to look back without also looking forward. As a result, when we journal, we naturally begin to look forward. And the next step becomes easier to see.
6. Writing reminds us to think beyond the obvious. Always looking for “material to journal” has caused me to see the value of simplicity and minimalism in areas I would not normally have seen it ? whether it be an article in the newspaper, an advertisement on television, or a conversation with a friend. Likewise, writing causes us to become more intentional in any pursuit ? and to find inspiration beyond the obvious places right in front of us.
7. Even a private journal provides accountability. As we script our journey, we find accountability ? not to the written word, but to ourselves. Our past success and perseverance compels us forward. We can see how far we’ve come, how much we have left to accomplish, and why giving up would be foolish.
8. A written account allows our story to inspire others. Our journal is our story. It is our account of moving from Point A to Point B. And rightly shared, it can inspire others to do the same.

Getting Started.

• Find a form that is comfortable for you. A journal should work for you ? not the other way around. You may feel most comfortable with a notebook, a computer processor, a website, or anon-line writing app. Find a form that fits your personality and lifestyle. And embrace it.
• Commit to writing every day. The intention of sitting to write every day will compel your mind to manufacture and recognize progress. It is a bold plan. And you’ll likely miss days. But don’t let that stop you. Commit again to write the next day.
• Care more about substance and less about style. Write for yourself, not for others. As you do, write with the truest goal of putting onto paper your thoughts and action. Don’t worry about spelling and grammar if those things tend to bog you down. Your goal is not to get an “A.” Your goal is to articulate progress.
• Don’t be motivated by length. There are some days where you’ll be motivated to write much. Others days, only a little.
• Recognize our need. You story is important and is meant to be shared. It may be unique to you, but we desperately need to read it. Make sure we can.

Successful businesspeople

Successful businesspeople have many traits in common with one another. They are confident and optimistic. They are disciplined self starters. They are open to any new ideas which cross their path. Here are ten traits of the successful entrepreneur.

1. Disciplined

These individuals are focused on making their businesses work, and eliminate any hindrances or distractions to their goals. They have overarching strategies and outline the tactics to accomplish them. Successful entrepreneurs are disciplined enough to take steps every day toward the achievement of their objectives.

2. Confidence

The entrepreneur does not ask questions about whether they can succeed or whether they are worthy of success. They are confident with the knowledge that they will make their businesses succeed. They exude that confidence in everything they do.

3. Open Minded

Entrepreneurs realize that every event and situation is a business opportunity. Ideas are constantly being generated about workflows and efficiency, people skills and potential new businesses. They have the ability to look at everything around them and focus it toward their goals.

4. Self Starter

Entrepreneurs know that if something needs to be done, they should start it themselves. They set the parameters and make sure that projects follow that path. They are proactive, not waiting for someone to give them permission.

5. Competitive

Many companies are formed because an entrepreneur knows that they can do a job better than another. They need to win at the sports they play and need to win at the businesses that they create. An entrepreneur will highlight their own company’s track record of success.

6. Creativity

One facet of creativity is being able to make connections between seemingly unrelated events or situations. Entrepreneurs often come up with solutions which are the synthesis of other items. They will repurpose products to market them to new industries.

7. Determination

Entrepreneurs are not thwarted by their defeats. They look at defeat as an opportunity for success. They are determined to make all of their endeavors succeed, so will try and try again until it does. Successful entrepreneurs do not believe that something cannot be done.

8. Strong people skills

The entrepreneur has strong communication skills to sell the product and motivate employees. Most successful entrepreneurs know how to motivate their employees so the business grows overall. They are very good at highlighting the benefits of any situation and coaching others to their success.

9. Strong work ethic

The successful entrepreneur will often be the first person to arrive at the office and the last one to leave. They will come in on their days off to make sure that an outcome meets their expectations. Their mind is constantly on their work, whether they are in or out of the workplace.

10. Passion

Passion is the most important trait of the successful entrepreneur. They genuinely love their work. They are willing to put in those extra hours to make the business succeed because there is a joy their business gives which goes beyond the money. The successful entrepreneur will always be reading and researching ways to make the business better.

Successful entrepreneurs want to see what the view is like at the top of the business mountain. Once they see it, they want to go further. They know how to talk to their employees, and their businesses soar as a result.

Just Do It!

The primary difference between high achievers and low achievers is “action-orientation.” Men and women who accomplish tremendous things in life are intensely action oriented. They are moving all the time. They are always busy. If they have an idea, they take action on it immediately. On the other hand, low achievers and non-achievers are full of good intentions, but they always have an excuse for not taking action today. It is well said that, “the road to hell is paved with good intentions.” GOALS! PAGE 45 Examine yourself in terms of your personal inventory of skills, knowledge, talent, education and ability. If you were developed to the highest level possible for you (and there is virtually no limit), answer these questions: 1. What additional knowledge and skills would you have acquired five years from now? 2. In what areas would you be recognized as absolutely excellent in what you do? 3. What would you be doing each day in order to develop the knowledge and skills you need to be one of the top performers in your field sometime in the future? Once you have answered these questions, the only question you ask is, “How?” How do you attain the skills and expertise you will require to lead your field in the years ahead?

DECIDE- Learn how to make sound decisions

Human are forced to make decisions. Surprisingly, many of them make wrong decisions. START TODAY LTD suggests the following approach used to make sound decisions. DECIDE is one of the several approaches that provide a mental check list for making any decision. I suppose that you will apply this approach from today. D- Define the problem E- Enumerate the decision factors C- Collect relevant information I- Identify a solution D- Develop and implement a plan E- Evaluate the results

Make A Decision

'' Reject any self-limiting beliefs that you might have that could be holding you back. Look into yourself and question the areas of your life where you have doubts about your abilities or talents.Keep Your Words and Actions Consistent Your beliefs are always manifested in your words and actions." STL Team

Make a decision this very day to challenge and reject any self-limiting beliefs that you might have that could be holding you back. Look into yourself and question the areas of your life where you have doubts about your abilities or talents. You might ask your friends and family members if they see any negative beliefs that you might have. Often, they will be aware of negative self-limiting beliefs you have that you are not aware of yourself. In every case, once you have identified these negative beliefs, ask yourself, “What if the opposite were true?” What if you had the ability to be extraordinarily successful in an area where you currently doubt yourself? What if you had been programmed from infancy with genius ability in a particular area? For example, what if you had within you, right now, the ability to earn and keep all the money you could ever want, throughout your life? What if you had a “golden touch” with regard to money? If you absolutely believed these things to be true, what would you do differently from what you are doing today? Keep Your Words and Actions Consistent Your beliefs are always manifested in your words and actions. Make sure that everything you say and do from now on is consistent with the beliefs that you want to have, and the person that you want to become. In time, you will replace more and more of your self-limiting beliefs with life-enhancing beliefs. Over time, you will completely reprogram yourself for success. When this occurs, the transformation that takes place in your outer life will amaze you, and all the people around you.

Look For The Good

Top people look for the good in every situation. They know that it is always there. No matter how many reversals and setbacks they experience, they expect to get something good out of everything that happens to them. They believe that every setback is part of a great plan that is moving them inexorably toward achieving the great success that is inevitable for them. If your beliefs are positive enough, you will seek the valuable lesson in every setback or difficulty. You will confidently believe that there are many things that you have to learn on the road to achieving and keeping your ultimate success. You therefore look upon every problem as a learning experience. Napoleon Hill wrote, “Within every difficulty or obstacle, there is the seed of an equal or greater advantage or benefit.” With this kind of an attitude, you benefit from everything that happens to you, positive or negative, as you move upward and onward toward achieving your major definite purpose.

Do What You Love To Do

In setting goals for your life, short and long-term, you should continually ask yourself, “What do I most enjoy doing, in each area of my life?” For instance, if you could do just one thing all day long in your work, what would it be? If you could do any job or full time activity all the time, without pay, what would it be? What sort of work or activity gives you the greatest joy and satisfaction? The psychologist Abraham Maslow identified what he called “peak experiences,” those moments or times when the individual feels the happiest, most elated and exhilarated. One of your aims in life is to enjoy as many peak experiences as possible. You achieve this by thinking back and identifying those moments of peak experience in your past, and by then by imagining how you could repeat them in your present and future. What have been your happiest moments in GOALS! PAGE 71 life up to now? How could you have more of those moments in the future? What do you really love to do?

Be True To Yourself

Perhaps the most important value of all is that of integrity. A billionaire once said to me, “Integrity is not so much a value in itself; it is rather the value that guarantees all the other values.” Wow! This was a great insight for me. Once you have decided that you are going to live consistent with a value, your level of integrity determines whether or not you follow through on your commitment. The more you discipline yourself to live consistent with the very best you know, the greater is your level of personal integrity. And the higher your level of integrity, the happier and more powerful you will feel in everything you do. Truly great men and women are always described as having high levels of integrity. They live their lives consistent with their highest values, even when no one is looking. Mediocre men and women on the other hand, are always cutting corners and compromising their integrity, especially when no one is watching.

Think Only About What You Want

Remember, you become what you think about — most of the time. Successful, happy people think about their values, and how they can live and practice those values in every part of their lives, every single day. GOALS! PAGE 59 The big payoff is that, the more you live your life consistent with your values, the happier, healthier, more positive and energetic you will be.

Expect The Best

Your beliefs in turn determine the third ring of your personality, your expectations. If you have positive values, you will believe yourself to be a good person. If you believe yourself to be a good person, you will expect good things to happen to you. If you expect good things to happen to you, you will be positive, cheerful and future oriented. You will look for the good in other people and situations. The fourth level of your personality, determined by your expectations, is your attitude. Your attitude will be an outward manifestation or reflection of your values, beliefs and expectations. For example, if your value is that this is a good world to live in, and your belief is that you are going to be very successful in life, you will expect that everything that happens to you is helping you in some way. As a result, you will have a positive mental attitude toward other people and they will respond positively toward you. You will be a more cheerful and optimistic person. You will be someone that others want to work with and for, buy from, sell to and generally GOALS! PAGE 51 help to be more successful. This is why a positive mental attitude seems to go hand in hand with great success in every walk of life. The fifth ring, or level of life, is your actions. Your actions on the outside will ultimately be a reflection of your innermost values, beliefs and expectations on the inside. This is why what you achieve in life and work will be determined more by what is going on inside of you than by any other factor.

Stop Blaming Others

From now on, refuse to blame anyone for anything - past, present or future. As Eleanor Roosevelt said, No one can make you feel inferior without your consent. Buddy Hacket, the comedian, once said, I never hold grudges; while you’re holding grudges, they’re out dancing! From this point forward, refuse to make excuses or to justify your behaviors. If you make a mistake, say, “I’m sorry,” and get busy GOALS! PAGE 29 rectifying the situation. Every time you blame someone else or make excuses, you give your power away. You feel weakened and diminished. You feel negative and angry inside. Refuse to do it.

5 Easy Ways to Reduce Your Bills This Month

'' If you haven't yet begun to find ways to save more money and improve your finances, now is certainly the time to spring into action. Gas prices are on the rise, your healthcare expenses could go up in the near future, and there could be more tax increases on the horizon. Therefore, it's important to save however, whenever you can.'' STL Team

Here are five easy ways to do so:

 1. Use Coupons and Sign Up for Supermarket Loyalty Programs If you're willing to put in a little effort, you can save significantly at the grocery store by using extreme couponing strategies. Purchase one extra copy of the Sunday paper each week or extra coupons, and instantly double your savings by shopping on the day your grocer doubles the value of manufacturers coupons. Buy in bulk when you find a particularly good deal on an item you use frequently, and sign up for the loyalty program if your grocer has one - this way, you can receive coupons in the mail. Save the most by combining coupons with in-store sales.

 2. Get an Energy Audit Instead of researching the Internet for ways to reduce your home energy bills, have a professional come to your house to perform an inspection. By doing so, you can get a comprehensive report conducive to your particular needs. Many energy providers provide in-home energy audits free of charge. The inspection, which covers both the interior and the exterior, should take only an hour or so, and the report can supply you with a number of ways to improve your home or your habits to save. For example, you may find that simply by reducing your water heater and thermostat by a few degrees, you can significantly reduce your energy bill

3. Look for Hidden Fees -Many service providers and banks have instituted a variety of new fees you might be unnecessarily paying for. Carefully review each monthly bill that you receive, and look for maintenance fees, usage fees, paper statement fees, and more. These can easily add up over time, and it's in your best interest to identify these and work with the provider to get them omitted from future bills. Always be courteous to customer service staff when you inquire about charges and ask for their removal. If that is ineffective, you could ask to speak to the company's customer retention department and let them know that you plan to use another provider if the fees are not removed. In this instance, it pays to make sure the other provider can accommodate your needs.

 4. Combine Service Bundling services - such as phone, Internet, and cable - presents a great opportunity to save. When you investigate online and find the best possible deal, call the provider and ask if that price can be beaten. There's a chance you could score an even bigger discount. Also, if you're still using a landline telephone, but have a reliable Internet connection, consider using a service like magicJack which can provide phone service via your Internet connection for as little as $29.95 per year.

5. Ask for a Discount Asking for a discount applies to nearly anything you purchase, and it never hurts to inquire with a salesperson to see if they are willing to haggle and negotiate a lower price. For instance, if you are purchasing a flat screen television or a personal computer, see if you can have the price of the tax taken off the total cost. It's important to understand that even big box retailers do in fact have the ability to negotiate price - you just have to ask. I once did this, and the salesperson instead found an open box item for me in the back of the store off which I got a significant discount.

Final Thoughts Once your savings are in the bank, appropriate them wisely - save for your retirement, an emergency fund, or save extra money for your kids' college fund. That said, it isn't out of the question to reward yourself (modestly) for all your hard work - perhaps a nice dinner every few months, or a little splurge on a gift for yourself. Saving money is great, but using those savings appropriately can really help improve your finances. What other ways can you think of to save on monthly bills?

Believe

Starting out in business is hard work. There will be times when you feel like throwing in the towel and settling for something less demanding. If these thoughts too easily enter your mind, it is possible that you are just not suited to being an entrepreneur. Those who are truly destined to become successful, respected entrepreneurs are those that are able to weather the storms that will surely come your way as you look to make your mark. The important thing is to never dwell on the negative, but rather identify what it was you learnt from this setback. There is no successful person alive today who did not at one time or another face adversity. It is how you deal with this adversity which will ultimately determine your future successes, and it is when people see you get back on your feet after a fall that they truly begin to respect you and take you seriously.

Live this life 24/7

A serious entrepreneur knows that this life is not a game. Respect is not given out for free, it is earned. It is essential then that your whole mentality to work and its position within your life is clear in your mind. If you really want to make a success of things, you will sacrifice everything else in your world in order to make this work. This means that you must eat, sleep and breathe your work. The weekend is no longer a time to go out with your friends, drinking and having fun. Your weekends now are no longer your own. At the outset there is never a time when you are not “on.” Go over figures, attend negotiation workshops, look back at what you have done and how it can better next time, and educate yourself some more; read all of the trade magazines and the books that have been written by people who were one day in exactly the same position that you are now.

Find a Mentor you will succeed

If you are able to make a strong contact with another more experienced person within your field who you can turn for help and advice on a regular basis, you are starting out on the right road to respect and acceptance. Placing your trust in a mentor shows the people around you that you understand just how important it is to learn from those who have already been there and done all of the things that you are getting ready to face at the start of your career. A good mentor will not only guide you along your way, but they will also be an invaluable source of contacts and essential corporate invitations.

Apply the following principles in your life

Power without character is misleading, Talent without proper management is useless and Ability without humility is destructive The more we rely on God to direct our lives, the closer we draw to our ultimate purpose . . . even if we don’t realize it. Your career should be where your dreams, aspirations, talents, and hopes for the present and future play out.

5 personality traits of action-oriented people

ACTION ORIENTED PERSON I'm an action-oriented person. I take on big goals and go after them full force. I don't like to take too much time to plan and prepare. I believe in the "ready-fire-aim" approach to life. I'm alright with making mistakes and fixing them after the fact. I believe it builds character. In this article, I give you 5 personlity traits of action-oriented people. Here are 5 personality traits of action-oriented people: 1. Doers: They like to get things done. They don't care if they make a mistake; they prefer to get the ball rolling and re-adjust their aim or strategy after they see results. 2. Leaders. They like to be in charge, sometimes with an "It's my way or the highway" approach. They may even be stubborn or arrogant in certain situations. 3. Strong and Decisive: As a result, they tend to take on leadership roles along with great responsibility. 4. Cheerful and optimistic: They're comfortable to be around and often characetized as the "Life of the Party". They might "promise the world" because it's the friendly thing to do. 5. Impatient: They might get impatient with other people who aren't like them. Yet many action-oriented people get along well with process-oriented people because they are able to take charge.

Natural Entrepreneur

In the book, Pollard identifies 12 capacities for natural entrepreneurship: Excellent instincts: "A subconscious ability to sense what is going right and wrong, when you're being told the truth and not, and what is happening that is not being expressed in words, data or written reports. This is close to the concept called emotional intelligence." Critical thinking skills: "The ability to think logically, to assess information and opinions intelligently, to extract and convey insight, to make sense of it." Imaginative skills: "The ability to conjure up, by putting different ideas together, or out of nothing but pure imagination, what is possible, to address needs or problems that arise in the enterprise or are identified by customers or potential customers." Creative skills: "The ability to make the abstract (ideas and imaginings) real, to bring them to life, to make them work in the real world given all the constraints you must deal with." Attention skills: "The ability to see patterns, to scan broadly for ideas and events that could be important and bring them to others' attention, and also the ability to listen, watch and focus the senses on perceiving what is really happening and then, with your partners, assessing what it means." Communication skills: "The ability to articulate, orally and in writing, what you think, what you mean, what you intend and why, and the ability to craft and relate stories… Stories provide rich context and understanding, and are hence more valuable for decision-making." Demonstration skills: "Showing people is usually more compelling than telling them, but demonstration is an art form that requires the demonstrator to put him or herself in the position of the person watching, to anticipate questions and misunderstandings, and to see things from different perspectives." Learning skills: "Every aspect of entrepreneurship entails continuous learning. This has more to do with openness than intellectual capacity. It's about an ability to let go of preconceptions and conceptions and be completely flexible to new ideas and information and possibilities, even if it contradicts what you thought you knew." Responsibility: This includes accepting responsibility for your decisions and for the well-being of your partners in your natural enterprise. In conventional corporations, this would be called leadership. Self-management: "Personal self-management entails self-knowledge, exercising authority as appropriate, seeking consensus as appropriate, and accepting responsibility." Passion: "This starts with your personal passion, and with the opportunity to apply that passion to your purpose. But it extends also to your partners… You need to care not only for what you are doing in the enterprise but also for what the enterprise as a whole is doing and for what your partners care about." Collaboration: "Although there is certainly some individual work in a natural enterprise, much if not most of the work is truly collaborative -- it entails people doing work together, producing work product that is collective, and can't be identified as the work of any individual, and most important, achieving results greater than those that any of the people in the organization, working individually, could possibly have achieved." I can't wait to dig further into this book, because as some of you may know, InnovationTools is only a part-time gig for me, and I would like nothing more than to transform it into a natural enterprise that I can nurture and grow on a full-time basis. The problem is that I lack the understanding of how to make the transition from a full-time job, with a regular salary and benefits, to the sometimes uncertain cash flow and lack of health insurance that comes with being a solo entrepreneur. In the true spirit of entrepreneurship, however, I am in the process of learning how to make this transition.
